The Effect
Two spectators shuffle a deck of photo cards. Without saying a word, you show them the images as you place the cards on the table. Then, you reveal: “Believe it or not, I’ve just influenced you.”
Each spectator goes through the photos one by one, deciding whether to keep or reject each card. At the end:
- The rejected pile is revealed first—it’s a mix of cards with male genetic symbols on blue backs and female symbols on pink backs.
- Spectator 1’s chosen cards are flipped—all feature the Male Genetic symbol with blue backs. This revelation always gets gasps!
- Spectator 2 turns over their chosen cards—every single one has the Female Genetic symbol with pink backs.
